We’ve attached some seriously passionate people to this project, most of the team have already worked together on the short film DISCO, so we’re ready to tackle this ambitious and awesome film as a collaborative! So meet the Team!! Read the bios and get insight into some of the amazing people we have working on the film.
Writer & Director – Ash Morris
Ash is a middle aged, slightly scruffy, bearded part time Lecturer & Filmmaker from West Midlands, sunny Stoke on Trent, who has a BA Hons in Film, Television and Radio, and a MA in Film Production, Practice and Theory.
Ash has been mentored by the head of Documentary at The Guardian; Charlie Phillips via Sheffield Doc Fest, worked with actors from ‘This is England’, Downton Abbey, Tyrannosaur, Waterloo Road & Coronation Street, and mentored non professional actors from disadvantaged communities and backgrounds giving them a creative platform to express themselves.
More recently Ash was long listed for the BBC New Directors scheme, supported by Creative Skillset and Directors UK, as a trainee Director for BBC continual drama.
He is extremely passionate about Film, as a whole, particular in the areas of British Realism, Working Class Cinema, youth culture and Films/Documentaries that blur the lines between fiction and non-fiction.

Producer – Sorcha Anglim
Sorcha is of Irish blood but sadly Essex raised. She is an award winning short film producer, part time lecturer at Staffordshire University and a commercial production coordinator. Her short film ‘Me & You’ has gained over 8 millions views on youtube/Vimeo, won numerous awards and even got a distribution deal in Japan and more recently she produced the short film ‘Disco’ starring ‘This is England’s’ George Newton.

Cinematographer – Oliver Walker
Olie Walker is a dedicated television production specialist and freelance camera operator/cinematographer for over 15 years on shorts films and commercials. He runs his own production company Nisus HD and has worked on many productions for ITV as a cameraman.
Researcher – Emal Khan
Born in Afghanistan, Emal is a documentary filmmaker, living in Stoke-on-Trent. He is a self-motivated, ambitious film maker who has worked on a variety of different projects including: music video, short film, documentaries, advertising and commercials.
Executive Producer – Michael Knowles
Michael Knowles has produced six feature length films in six years. These include: Away (starring Timothy Spall and Juno Temple), The mystery/horror The Messenger (starring Robert Sheehan, Lily Cole and Joely Richardson). Michael’s project Snodgrass (starring Ian Hart) aired as part of Sky’s 2013 Playhouse series and written by Emmy award winning David Qauntick and directed by BAFTA winning David Blair. Michael received a BAFTA nomination for the film Talking with Angels.

Editor – Andy Paton
Andy Paton is a senior lecturer in film production specialising in post production. Andy has directed, produced and edited in all formats of film production from feature films through to artist residencies. His films have screened at Film Festivals across the world from Melbourne Australia to Galway and London. He has made films for UK Film Council and Screen West Midlands. Andy is also an Programme Adviser for the Staffordshire University Raindance Postgraduate film degree.
Sound Recordist – Darrell Briggs
Darrell has been recording and mixing sound professionally for 25 years now, all over the globe. He works in Feature Films and TV Drama but has experience in a wide range of areas of the film and television industry; Documentary/factual, promos, commercials and corporate.
He developed a keen interest in sound at a young age recording friends bands on four track machines. Later training in multi track recording techniques achieving an HND Distinction, before settling on his chosen career.
